There are rumours that writing will cease, books will die, the digital eye will take over. We stand at a distance from this precipice to investigate the act of writing, assuming it a curious projection from the past. ‘Various Writings’ responds to Vilém Flusser’s meticulous examination of the act of writing, through our own theoretical and practice-based examination of codes, tools and surfaces. We test writing against various technologies and translate it into movements, attitudes and objects. Our spoken/textual/visual exchange – a ‘tri-alogue’ – generates a collective taxonomy, and is documented and described for FOMO.
