In this premier performance of As it is Late, Oak and Mac implement a series of conversational instrumental techniques that extend concepts of “the spaces between” to text based sonics within a non-heirarchic aural landscape. The work is inspired by the application of silence in modern and contemporary music composition, and the experimental writing and abstraction techniques found in the writings of poets such as Lawrence Ferlingetti, Sylvia Plath and Kurt Schwitters.
